A Willing Heart

The number 13 in Hebrew is a beautiful number. Most of us have grown up thinking 13 is a very unlucky number. This may change your thinking! In the Hebrew, ahava (אהבה) is the word for “love”. Look how the letters add up. Alef =1, hey =5, & beit =2. 1+5+2+5=13!
And Moses spoke to all the congregation of the children of Israel, saying, “This is the word which HaShem commanded, saying, ‘Take from among you a contribution to HaShem. Everyone whose heart so moves him, let him bring it as a contribution to HaShem : gold, and silver, and bronze, and blue, and purple, and scarlet material , and fine linen, and goats’ hair , and ram skins dyed red, and fine leather, and acacia wood, and oil for the light, and spices for the anointing oil and for the sweet incense, and shoham stones, and stones to be set in the shoulder garment and in the breastplate. Exodus 35:4-9
Moves here in Hebrew is nadab (נדב), meaning offer freely, be give, make, offer self willingly. A primitive root; to impel; hence, to volunteer (as a soldier), to present spontaneously –offer freely, be (give, make, offer self) willing(-ly).
Moses is calling upon the children of Israel for their treasures. They brought it too! Precious metals, raw materials, vast quantities of gold, silver, and copper, beautiful fabrics, and jewels were given! The purest of olive oil and exotic spices were all brought with enthusiasm and emotion. The Children of Israel will now offer willingly all their remaining remnants of Egypt.
My daughter and I were discussing the story of how Job, being a man who loved HaShem so much, had EVERYTHING taken from him! Satan had permission from HaShem to try his best to see if Job would curse G-d. At his lowest, most miserable moment, in agony he knew Salvation. He knew the love of HaShem. Talk about a soldier!
“What is mankind, that You magnify him, that You set Your heart on him, that You visit him every morning, and test him in every moment?~Job 7:17-18
Pure gold cannot be given for it, nor can its price be weighed in silver. It cannot be weighed in gold from Ophir, in precious onyx, or sapphire. Neither gold or crystal can compare with it, nor vessels of fine gold exchanged for it. And He said to mankind, ‘The fear of the Lord —that is wisdom, and to turn away from evil is understanding.”’~Job 28:15-17, 28
“Where were you when I laid the foundations of earth? Tell Me, if you have understanding. Who set its dimensions —if you know— or who stretched a line over it? On what were its foundations set, or who laid its cornerstone— when the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy? ~Job 38:4-7
If I speak with the tongues of men and of angels but have not love, I have become a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and know all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith so as to remove mountains but have not love, I am nothing. If I give away all that I own and if I hand over my body so I might boast but have not love, I gain nothing. Love is patient, love is kind, it does not envy, it does not brag, it is not puffed up, it does not behave inappropriately, it does not seek its own way, it is not provoked, it keeps no account of wrong, it does not rejoice over injustice but rejoices in the truth; it bears all things, it believes all things, it hopes all things, it endures all things. Love never fails— but where there are prophecies, they will pass away; where there are tongues, they will cease; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. For we know in part and we prophesy in part; but when that which is perfect has come, then that which is partial will pass away. When I was a child, I spoke like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put away childish things. For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I will know fully, even as I have been fully known. But now these three remain— faith, hope, and love. And the greatest of these is love. 1 Corinthians 13:1-13
This is the love of the Father! The love of Yeshua! The love of the Bridegroom-King! Calling His bride! The assembly who have given freely what connected them to lives of slavery for The Covenant! The Torah and The Testimony of Yeshua!
There were 13 different items brought to Moses for the building of the Dwelling place of G-d! With a willing heart, the Children of Israel built a house of Love!
